THE DIFFERENCE

 I got up early one morning and rushed right into the day;

I had so much to accomplish that I didn't have time to pray.

 Problems just tumbled about me, and heavier came each task.

"Why doesn't God help me?" I wondered,

He answered, "You didn't ask."

 I wanted to see joy and beauty, but the day toiled on, gray and bleak;

I wondered why God didn't show me,

He said, "But you didn't seek."

 I tried to come into God's presence; I used all my keys at the lock.

God gently and lovingly chided, "My child, you didn't knock."

 I woke up early this morning and paused before entering the day;

I had so much to accomplish that I had to take time to pray.

Five to Four For Death

  On June 28, 2000 the United States Supreme Court ruled in a five to four decision that the law in Nebraska to ban partial birth abortion was not constitutional. In his dissent to this ungodly decision Justice Antonin Scalia wrote:

"Today's decision that the Constitution of the United States prevents the prohibition of a horrible mode of abortion, will be greeted by a firestorm of criticism... as well it should." He further stated: "(this) method of killing a human child... is so horrible that the most clinical description evokes a shudder of revulsion."

Justice Clarence Thomas in expressing his dissent wrote the following description of partial birth abortion:

"After dilating the cervix, the physician will grab the fetus by its feet and pull the fetal body out of the uterus...the head will be held inside the uterus by the woman's cervix.  While the fetus is stuck in this position, dangling partly out of the woman's body, just a few inches from completed birth, the physician uses an instrument such as a pair of scissors to tear or perforate the skull. The physician will then either crush the skull or will use a vacuum to remove the brain and other intracranial contents from the fetal skull, collapse the fetus' head, and pull the fetus from the uterus."

Thomas is the only black justice on the court and from his statement you can ascertain his strong opposition to abortion and why the liberal media and politicians hate him. His pro-life stance is why the "pro-choice" (to kill babies) group did all they could to keep him off the Supreme Court.    "Daniel Patrick Moynihan, the current democratic senator from New York has likened partial birth abortion to infanticide." (All the above quotes are from National Right to Life News, Suite 500, 419 Seventh St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20004, August 2000.)

ARE YOU IMMERSED?

  It has been proved that if a person from another country comes to America, the quickest way for them to learn English is to be immersed in it. That means to talk in English at home, read English newspapers and books, listen to English TV shows and radio, etc. I heard about a school in one of the states that has a large Spanish speaking population which showed dramatic results when they had their students immersed in English in all facets of life. If you think about that, it only makes sense. You can't learn English if you are speaking and hearing Spanish all the time.

Do you want to be more spiritual? Immerse yourself in spirituality. Talk in spiritual terms, surround yourself with spiritual people, listen to spiritual speakers, read the Bible instead of worldly literature, etc. If you think about that, it only makes sense. You can't become more spiritual if you are speaking and hearing worldliness all the time. Immerse yourself in spiritual things.

"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy  meditate on these things." (Philippians 4:8).
