Where In The Bible Will I
Find:
The Place That Awaits The
Soul of Man?
There
are two places vying for the souls of all mankind. One of these awaits the
souls of those who do not wish to do anything. For there is nothing one has to
do in order to go there. He can do nothing or he can do anything he wishes that
is wrong and his soul will surely go there. This place is described in the
Bible as the place prepared for the devil and his angels (Matt.25:41), a place
of outer darkness (Matt. 8:12), a place of fire and brimstone (Rev. 20:10;
21:8), where there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth (Matt. 13:42) where
the soul will be tormented with fire for ever and ever (Rev. 14:10-11),
where there is no escape (Luke 16:26). The other is a prepared place for a prepared
people (John 14:1-3). It requires obedience to the word of God (Mark
16:16; Matt. 7:21; Heb. 5:9). One has to obey the plan of salvation (Rom.
6:1718),
and live a Christian life (Rev. 2:10), and then he can live eternally in this
place described in the Bible as a place where there is peace and rest, where
there is joy and happiness, where there is no sickness, no sorrow and no death,
where one can live with the heavenly Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, and all
the hosts of heaven for ever and never die. In both places, the length of time
is the same. Eternity is the same in both places. As those happy souls in
heaven will live eternally in a place of peace and rest, those that have not
rendered obedience to God will be tormented and live eternally in a lake of
fire that is unquenchable (Luke 3:17). God has given each of us the same
opportunity. We can obey His Word and live eternally with Him, or we can do
nothing and live eternally in the place prepared for the devil and his angels
(Matt. 25:41). God has given us life here on earth in which we can prepare
ourselves for the place of our choice. He will not force us to go to either
place, it will be our choice. God will not send us to hell; if we end up there
it is because we did not prepare ourselves for heaven, and therefore, we have
sent our own soul to hell. We must prepare our self while on this side of
judgment for "it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the
judgment" (Heb. 9:27). When we draw our last breath, when our eyes are
closed in death, time, as we know it, ceases, our destiny is locked in, we have
made our choice -- there will be no second chance as the
rich man in Luke 16 found out too late, “...behold, now is the accepted
time, behold now is the day of salvation" (II Cor. 6:2). We must make
our choice NOW. We have no promise of tomorrow. Jesus says "Come unto
me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest"
(Matt. 11:28). The devil says do nothing and you will come to me. Which place
are you preparing NOW for your soul to live in eternity?
